WHEN IN: BRISBANE

WHAT TO EXPECT

It's culturally vibrant without any of the painful hustle and bustle one associates with city life, not to mention it's only an hours drive from some of the best beaches in the world i.e. Noosa, Byron Bay, Stadbroke Island, the list goes on...

Considered to be Melbourne's little sister and by far Australia's most underrated city, Brisbane is an energetic river town that has so much more to offer than perfect sunshine most of the year - cue sun emoji. From a booming art scene, pumping nightlight with great coffee and restaurants, you'd want to make sure you don't skip BNE when you visit down under.

WHAT TO PACK: 5 ESSENTIAL PIECES TO WEAR TO THE AIRPORT

When it comes to packing the perfect travelling wardrobe essentials, lets talk about Luxe activewear and chic tailoring. This isn't usually a combination you'd use in the same sentence but when it comes to perfecting the perfect travel outfit, they're totally appropriate.

Whether you're getting on a long- haul flight, or just fancy the idea of owning the most comfortable, travel-worthy wardrobe essentials then you'll love this round-up of key pieces I can never fly without.

These minimalist items in chic shades of grey and black will take you from style perfection to the plane, no matter what your destination may be.

    1. Basic T-Shirt - I am the ultimate t-shirt girl. My favourite, a basic crew neck. An absolute essential, and it's the perfect layering piece from take off to touch down.

    2. Tights - Never have I owned a better cut pair of tights, cropped perfectly at the ankle and hugging in all the right areas around your waist, these are seriously comfy. Ideal whether you're sweating it out or trying to get some sleep mid air.

    3. Cap - Did I mention bed hair, a hat will be your saving grace. Throw your hair in a low bun, put on a cap and you can go from sky high to sight seeing in the sun.

    4. Jacket - A cosy top layer for cold plane cabins or rugging up on the way home from a workout, whatever the occasion, packing layers is absolute key.

    5. Trainers - Unless your Victoria Beckham, wearing heels on a plane is crazy! Although I take my hat off to all those daring to do so. Thankfully long gone are the days of trainers only being suitable for the gym. I love paring mid length skirts, basic crew neck t-shirt and trainers for a chic look, or Sporte The Label Tights with trainers and a leather jacket.

A GLAMPING GETAWAY TO THE GLASSHOUSE MOUNTAINS

PUTTING THE GLAM IN GLAMPING: A STAY-CAY WITH THE GLAMPING HUB

    By Amy Wren

Whether you call it glamping or luxury camping, holidays spent in tipi style tents, tree houses or glass house cabins is a stay-cay trend that has well and truly gone global. For those of you unaware of this unique accommodation experience, let me break it down for you. It's glamorous camping in unique bungalows, to slumber parties in tipis, nights spent in secluded tree-houses and drinking red wine in architecturally designed chic cabins. It's a chance to climb up a mountain or dive into the sea, your chance to be adventurous, to be secluded, or be free.

After spending the weekend in this incredible glamping glass house we've well and truly caught luxury cabin fever. If you thought cabins were usually full of cob-webs  at the back of a barn yard, you thought wrong! The Glamping Hub offers all a vast array of these unique accommodation options from luxury cottages to a-frame bungalows and everything in-between, most likely in places you've never even heard of.

Spoil yourself by staying in this contemporary, luxury cabin that was near impossible to leave.

These stunning, private self-contained chic cabins are located in the scenic Sunshine Coast Hinterland, close to the popular hinterland towns of Montville and Maleny and just 10 minutes from Australia Zoo at Beerwah.

Architecturally designed, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass, they literally make you feel as if you're outside with the most incredible mountain views and beautiful landscapes. These cabins are so bright with beautiful light open spaces, give you the feeling as if you're sleeping with the stars.

We had a candlelight dinner, in the privacy of the intimate deck, whilst admiring the stunning sunsets and gazing upon the cosmos. These glasshouses have the most idyllic setting for the ultimate dining experience.

For complete relaxation there’s a dramatically decadent freestanding double spa bath set on a plinth in the middle of the bathroom, facing out to the magic mountain views. For those cool winter nights there's a beautiful two-sided romantic yet so sexy, eco-smart fire which can be experienced from the bathroom as well as the lounge.
